Background and Objectives

In order to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress, to serve the education for a strong nation, to increase the promotion of the commonly used languages and scripts in China, to transmit and develop the excellent Chinese language and culture, to promote the exchange and integration of languages and cultures in the Greater Bay Area through biliteracy and trilingualism, and to enhance the ability of young people and the general public to recognize and appreciate the Chinese classics, to improve the ability of international communication, and to promote the Chinese culture to the world.

With a total population of over 87 million and a GDP of over RMB 14.5 trillion, the Greater Bay Area, as one of the three core city clusters of China, is in great need of comprehensive talents with cross-language and cross-cultural communication skills to build a world-class Bay Area. The competition is committed to creating a highly interactive language and cultural exchange platform with international character. Through diversified forms of participation, the competition will inspire young people to learn the language and deepen their understanding of China. The competition will also organize visits and learning exchanges in Hong Kong and Guangzhou for the award-winning youths, so that they can gain a deeper understanding of the country's cultural heritage, historical legacy and institutional advantages, and tell a good story of China.

GAPSK Language Promotion Committee is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of language and cultural education. It is the only Chinese Putonghua Proficiency Test Organization approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and accredited by Peking University, which is a highly recognized authority. GAPSK has been working closely with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Education Bureau of Hong Kong, and many other authorities to organize influential public service language activities such as the "Chinese Classic Speech Contest Hong Kong Final" and the "Chinese Classic Speech Hong Kong-Macau Showcase", in order to actively promote the Chinese culture. In recent years, GAPSK has also been actively expanding its overseas network to build a language and cultural exchange platform to connect young people around the world. Through these internationalization initiatives, GAPSK not only enhances the Chinese language proficiency of overseas Chinese and local students, but also strengthens their cross-cultural communication. GAPSK continues to work with Hong Kong's universities and experts in the education sector to cultivate a new generation of talents with a sense of patriotism, a global outlook, and a holistic approach to education. GAPSK will continue to work with Hong Kong universities and education experts to nurture a new generation of talents with a global outlook and comprehensive literacy skills, and to contribute to telling Hong Kong's story, spreading China's voice, and enhancing the country's linguistic and cultural strength.

 

Enrollment Details

How to enter the competition:

Solo Speaking
Free of charge

Competition Groups:     

Toddler (4-6 years old), Junior (7-9 years old), Teenager (10-12 years old)
Each participant can only participate in the same age group as the current age group (based on the date of registration).

Competition Program:     

Chinese, English (multiple options available)

Speech:             

Each group has a choice of assigned recitation material (2 choices), which must be memorized.

Coverage area:     

Focusing on the Greater Bay Area and Taiwan, this event deepens the language and cultural learning and exchange among young people.

Competition arrangements:     

Both the preliminary and final rounds will be conducted through online video submissions;
The finalists will compete in a real-time online video final in June 2026
Winners of each category and special invitees will be invited to Hong Kong and Guangzhou to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony and Study Tour.
